K9 "Rick" was killed at Perryville prison July of 2007. TSU had placed Rick in an and cage in 117 degree heat after a lengthy traing exercise. Rick was suffering from "extreme fatigue." The K9 died from exposure from the desert heat.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry.

Herbert Ray Smith, 64, of Casa Grande died June 25, 2007 of injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
Mr. Smith was born July 11, 1942 in Spiro, Okla., to Joseph and Doska (Jackson) Smith.
Troy Wainscott, 76, of Coolidge died March 24, 2007 in Casa Grande. He lived in Arizona for 66 years and was a corrections officer for more than 32 years at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Florence.
An Arizona Army National Guardsman was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq, officials said Wednesday
Staff Sergeant Darrel Kasson, from Florence, died when a bomb exploded near his vehicle.
He had been with the National Guard for 20 years.
Kasson lived in Florence with his wife and three children and has worked as a corrections officer for the Arizona Department of Corrections for 18 years.
His co-workers said he always went above and beyond the call of duty.
"This is someone who's very near and dear to not only our department, but his community and Arizona, and it's a good reminder what the guys and gals over there are giving up," said Katie Decker, spokesperson for the Department of Corrections.
Kasson was deployed to Iraq in November, 2006, with the Alpha Battery, 2-180th Field Artillery Battalion.
He was 43 years old.
Kasson's family said he was a man who "loved the Lord, his family, and his country very much."
Funeral arrangements are forthcoming.
Kasson is the 100th Arizona service member killed in Iraq.

Cecil Oliver Metcalf, 88, of Coolidge died December 13, 2006. He worked at the Arizona State Prison system's main warehouse for 22 years, where he was a supervisor.
Lewis R. Huebner, 77, of Florence, died Nov. 9, 2006 he was employed 18 years as an officer of ADOC Florence
Two officers were hospitalized at Ryning unit following an inmate disturbance Aug 2006. A disturbance occurred during morning chow. Both officers were sent home the same day.
Katherine Francis (Wheeler) Martin was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 5, 1915. she died July 31, 2006.
Kay retired from Arizona State Prison in Florence where she worked in the time computation office.
officer "Willie" Jimenez was born Nov. 15, 1952 in Eloy. He was an Army veteran and worked for the Arizona Department of Corrections for 25 years before retirement, then continued working as a corrections officer. He was a member of St. Helen's Church and an avid sports fan who enjoyed coaching, fishing, biking and running. He was killed in a head on car crash.
